Ceramic Essentials Faye is een kleine shop in keramiekbenodigdheden begonnen, genaamd Ceramic Essentials. Ze heeft een webshop opgezet waar je Mayco glazuren, (op maat gemaakte) benodigdheden en leuke cadeautjes kunt bestellen. Je bestelling kun je vervolgens in het atelier ophalen. Faye heeft verschillende Mayco glazuurlijnen, waaronder Fundamentals (onderglazuur), Stoneware (steengoedglazuren), Cobblestones en Jungle Gems (effectglazuren), Designer Liners (glazuurpennen) en uiteraard het onmisbare wonderglazuur: Stroke & Coat (aardewerkglazuur maar vaak ook tot 1220°C te stoken). VERZENDEN & RETOURNEREN VERZENDING ​ Binnen Nederland worden onze producten verzonden met PostNL. Deze zullen u indien voorradig binnen 2-5 werkdagen bereiken. Voor internationale verzendingen kunt u contact met ons opnemen. RETOURNEREN ​ Wanneer uw product niet overeenkomt met uw verwachting kunt u deze binnen 14 dagen retourneren. Indien uw product beschadigd aankomt heeft u recht op een vervangend product. Uiteraard is geen handgemaakt stuk hetzelfde, maar wij zullen ons uiterste best doen om het product te vervangen.

Stookservice Beschikt u niet over een elektrische oven, maar zou u wel graag uw gemaakte kleiwerken gestookt willen hebben? Of wilt u eerst kijken of 'pottenbakken' voor u is weggelegd? Dan is het mogelijk om uw werken in onze oven te stoken. ​ Wij beschikken over een 150L bovenlader elektrische oven met digitaal regelapparaat. De oven heeft een maximale stooktemperatuur van 1320°C. Zo kunnen we van aardewerk tot porselein stoken en nauwkeurig de juiste stookcurve instellen. Kosten stookservice Transfer stook tot 800°C € 15,- per ovenplaat.* € 60,- voor een volle oven (150 Liter). Lage stook tot 1040°C (Biscuit, Aardewerk en Transfers) € 20,- per ovenplaat.* € 80,- voor een volle oven (150 Liter). € 5,- per kg biscuit bij enkele werken.* Geglazuurd aardewerk kan, zo nodig, op triangels gestookt worden. Hoge stook tot 1220°C (of hoger in overleg) ​​​​ € 25,- per ovenplaat.* € 100,- voor een volle oven (150 Liter). € 7,- per kg biscuit bij enkele werken.* ​ Zit u in nood ? Dan kunt u altijd vragen of een spoed stook mogelijk is. De meerkosten voor een spoed stook bedragen 20% bovenop de totale kosten. *Mits er andere werken bij in worden gezet om de oven te vullen. Mocht dat niet het geval zijn, dan geldt het starttarief van €35,-. De werken dienen een maximale hoogte van 8 cm te hebben. Hoger dan 8 cm kan in overleg, tegen een meerprijs. In verband met de gestegen energieprijs zijn de stookkosten tijdelijk verhoogd. Voorwaarden De oven wordt door ons gevuld en uitgepakt. U dient de werken te brengen in een stevige krat om risico te beperken. Werken dienen helemaal droog te zijn, wanneer u het komt brengen. Wij beoordelen de werken voorafgaand aan het vullen van de oven. Werken dienen hol van binnen te zijn en zo nodig een 'luchtgat' te hebben. Geglazuurde werken dienen een ongeglazuurde schone bodem te hebben. Geglazuurde werken dienen eerst biscuit gestookt te zijn op min. 940°C. De door u gekozen stooktemperatuur dient overeen te komen met de klei en glazuren die u heeft gebruikt voor uw werken. Indien u laat stoken op gewicht, dan worden de werken gewogen na het stoken. Het werk stoken is op eigen risico. Wij gaan voorzichtig met uw werken om. Bij het brengen van uw werk krijgt u een indicatie van wanneer u de gestookte werken zal kunnen ophalen. Vaak is het termijn korter dan een week. U wordt gebeld of geappt wanneer de werken kunnen worden opgehaald. U kunt zowel contant als met de pin afrekenen. Als het werk kapot is gegaan tijdens de stook, dient u evengoed de stookkosten te betalen. RAKU STOKEN The kiln is fired up to a temperature at which the glaze has melted at work. This temperature is between 950 and 1050 degrees. Once the glaze has melted, the work looks shiny and wet, the kiln is opened, the work is removed from the kiln with sturdy tongs and then placed in a ready metal barrel with sawdust, hay or straw. The reduction (oxygen extraction) occurs because the red-hot work sets the hay on fire. By directly closing the barrel with a lid, the sawdust is smothered by lack of oxygen. After about 15 to 20 minutes the work is removed from the sawdust barrel, cooled in a water container and then soot and straw are cleaned off. PAINT BISCUIT WITH GLAZE When pottery is baked 1x you call it Biscuit. The sponge cake can then be glazed to give it color and make it waterproof.
